New BMW prototype / development mule “Erlkönig” spotted in Munich

Last time I went to Munich I’ve seen this pretty fancy painted car: two BMW cars covered with white curly patterns . Of course it was – like  German say an “Erlkönig” -  (“development mule” in English). In fact I’ve seen two of these and here are the pics. I don’t have any idea which new BMW model it should replace or should be, but it would be interesting if someone could give me a small hint ;-)
My guess is that this car is in pre-final version and should come out very soon, perhaps in Q2 2012. The pics after the break More >

I was surprised to see this car on a parking. The black stickers on the car parts hidding the famous lion was kinda bizarre so i decided to took some pictures of this car.

After a quick research on the web : it’s the new Peugeot 3008 that will be on the market this summer! So what you see are first pictures of the car ;-) Note the backlights that are completely different to the initial Peugeot design pictures
